Our mothers were the best of friends since high school, so of course, Wes and I were friends as well. Wes was always the rule keeper and I was the rule breaker. He would always try to stop me so we wouldn't get in trouble. Such a sweet man and truly a genius. He will be missed.
Wes & I were in the Marine Corps Reserve together. One summer we were in the Los Angeles International Airport aka LAX & he yelled at me, “Come here, there’s somebody I want you to met & it was Jim Nabors who played Gomer Pyle on TV. Wes stopped him & insisted that he talk to us! It was a special day.
