Nell Hicks Stumbo's Obituary
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Nell Hicks Stumbo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away on September 28, 2025 at UAB-St Vincent's East.
Born to Alonzo and Carrie Hicks in Anniston, Alabama on March 13, 1937.
Nell is survived by her son, Ron Stumbo of Millbrook, Al.; two daughters, Angela Stumbo King of Atlanta, Ga., Tammy Stumbo Jacks (Rick) of Anniston; grandsons; Joshua Philip King (Tara) of Acworth, Ga., Tyler Philip Stumbo (Jennifer) of Millbrook, Al; granddaughters; Julia Jacks Character 9Jamie) and Meagan Jacks both of Oxford. Also surviving Nell is her great-grandson Wyatt Character, her great-granddaughter Olivia Stumbo and three special nieces.
Mrs. Stumbo is a retired Federal employee and avid animal lover.
She is preceded in death by her parents Alonzo and Carrie Hicks; by her husband Phillip Stumbo, her brothers, Malcolm Hicks, Durwood Hicks, Bennie Hicks and by her grandson, Drew King.
