John Wilson Mintz's Obituary
John Wilson Mintz, age 46, passed away on April 21, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1979.
John proudly served his country as a member of the Alabama National Guard for more than 20 years. During his military service, he deployed to Afghanistan with Task Force Centurion (1st of the 167th Infantry, Fourth Alabama). His dedication to service reflected his strength, loyalty, and commitment to others.
He was also a proud member of Saints John Lodge 931, F&AM, Alabama.
In his professional life, John worked in information technology and earned his ISC2 CISSP certification, demonstrating his knowledge, discipline, and work ethic.
John will be remembered most for his lively spirit. He loved to laugh, tease, and keep those around him on their toes. He had a natural gift for humor and a way of playfully aggravating everyone around him that made people smile and shake their heads.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Mintz and Pat Mintz.
He is survived by his sons, Gage, Clay, and Gabe; his brother, Chris Mintz (Darlene); along with many extended family members, friends, and fellow service members who will deeply miss him.
Memorial service arrangements with military honors will be announced at a later date.
John’s memory will live on through the love of his family, the friendships he built, and the lives he touched through both service and laughter.
