Clara Grace Marchant's Obituary
Clara Grace Marchant (Nestler), 91, born on October 22, 1928, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to Augustus & Anna Nestler, fell asleep in death on July 4, 2020, in Anniston, Alabama. Until her last breath, she remained a faithful servant of Jehovah God, devoted wife, adored mother, beloved grandmother, and treasured family member and friend of hundreds. She was the best wife and mother, THE best cook anyone knows, and always a woman of kindness and graciousness who never left the house without her lipstick. For decades, she spent her time taking care of family, teaching others the truth from God’s Word, and hospitably receiving everyone that Grandpa brought home because he knew she’d always have dinner on the stove, wholeheartedly embracing his sentiment that “there’s always room for one more!” To those she helped teach about Jehovah and Bible truth, she welcomed them into the family as her children and happily cherished being everyone’s Grandma. When she was with you, she was fully engaged with you and your life, how you were, how you were feeling, and let you know “you look good, have you lost weight?” And despite the agonizing toll of years of Alzheimer’s, never did she forget that Tommy was her man, and a good-lookin’ man at that! Clara’s life is ever so fondly remembered by everyone who knew her. We all look forward to seeing her again in the resurrection when she will hear Jesus’ voice and awaken to life everlasting under God’s Kingdom in a perfect paradise earth where she will never again experience the ravages of sickness, old age, and death as the Bible promises. She’ll always have a pan of biscuits and good conversation for everyone who stops by.
Preceded in death by her children Paul Anthony, Jerry, and Nancy, and grandson Preston, Clara is survived by her husband of 70 years, Tommy; her children, Tommy & Jackie of Middlesboro, Kentucky; Dorothy & Jim of Corinth, Texas; daughter-in-law Julie of Palmdale, California; Annette & Len of Anniston, Alabama; and Joe of Slidell, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Gabriel, Josh, and Shannon; Wendi, Alicia, Daniel, and Samuel; Sarah, Matt, Jared, and Caleb; Shane, Amanda, Bethany, and Rachel; Amber; and Sandy, Lisa, April, and Davey; and many, many great-grandchildren.
Clara’s memorial will be held at: 11:00 a.m. Central U.S time, Saturday, July 18, 2020, via Zoom. For the Zoom information, guests should contact one of Clara’s family members or Wendi Bullock at [email protected] or 214-356-3224.
