Vivian Comer Kemp's Obituary
Vivian Comer Kemp was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She received her perfect and long-awaited gift of seeing her Savior’s face on Saturday September 24, 2022.
Vivian was born to E.G. and Maryzette Comer on June 19, 1941. She has a cherished sister, Jeanette Berhardt (Fred).
She graduated from Jacksonville High School and loved sharing stories of her transition from Weaver Junior High to Jacksonville and the friends she made along the way. She attended Jacksonville State University and began a 40+ year career focused on serving others. By far, her favorite job was caring for the staff and children at DeArmanville Junior High School.
Vivian was a skilled piano player and filled DeArmanville United Methodist church with her love for music every Sunday, along with weddings and other events. When she was not seated at the piano or organ, she treasured her time in United Methodist Women, Angel Food Ministries, Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. She loved her church and served lovingly for over 50 years and touched many lives with her kindness, her delicious meals and unforgettable yeast rolls.
Vivian had two children, Anthony “Tony” Kemp (Robbie) and Janine Moses (Steven) in her first marriage. Fifty years ago, she met and married Kenneth Earl Kemp and added three children, Dawne, Kenny, and Susan (Billy). She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, her son Kenny, and grandson Jacob Kemp.
Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her joy, and she had many. Eleven grandchildren included: Jason Wallace (Eli), Bridget Basinger (Khris), Jessica Kemp, Brandon Fanuef, Kayla Norred (Benny), Matthew Moses, Chelsae Miner, Nicholas Moses, Alex Moses, Gavin Kemp, and Kaden Kemp. Great-grandchildren included: Kourtney Wallace, Kadi Bright, Amber Basinger, Jayden Fields, Raelynn Deerman and Saydee Norred.
Vivian’s homegoing celebration is scheduled for Wednesday September 28th, 2022 at 11:00am at DeArmanville United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to “DeArmanville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall” would be a wonderful way to honor an amazingly selfless lady.
