Videra "Vi" King's Obituary
What a life has brought us to this celebration. Videra King know as Vi was born on March 16, 1928 to Johnny and Emma Harris of Ranburne, Alabama. Vi lived a full and loving life until she was called home to Heaven on October 1, 2025.
Vi was preceded in death by her husbands- E.J. McElroy and Harry King, and by her beloved daughter Becky McElroy. She is also preceded in death by Myrtle Rollins (sister), Virgil Harris (brother), Mildred Hand (sister), Estoria McElroy (sister), Alma Pollard (sister), Junior Harris (brother), F.E. Harris, known as Lidge (brother) and Ben Colen Harris (brother).
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved son Garry McElroy and his wife Mary, grandchildren- Jay McElroy and his wife Laura, Scott McClellan and his wife Kelly, Brad McClellan and his wife Rebecca, and her sister Norma Jean Stephens. Vi has six great-grandchildren.
Vi King was born and raised in Ranburne, Alabama. She resided in Anniston for the past 50 years and was a long time member of the Oxford Church of God. She was the owner of Vi’s Beauty Shop on 10th Street Mountain Road for 50 years before retiring. After retiring, Vi lived a full life and enjoyed traveling. One of her favorite trips was an Alaskan cruise. She loved her family very much and loved spending time with them.
There will be a graveside service only for family and friends at Crumley’s Chapel Church of God located at 288 County Road 644, Heflin, Alabama, on Wednesday, October 8th beginning at 1PM with Jeremy Harris presiding.
