Dr. Tom Beam's Obituary
Dr. Tom Beam was born on July 25, 1947 to Ruben Isaac Beam and Pauline Elizabeth Markley, in a small town in Indiana. Dr. Beam passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026 at his home in Anniston, AL. Dr. Beam was 78 years old.
Dr. Beam was a graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was owner and veterinarian at Anniston Veterinary Hospital for 42 years, before retiring due to medical reasons. He loved all animals, but mainly practiced small animal medicine.
He was married to his loving wife for 56 years, had 3 children, and 6 grandchildren. He enjoyed watching Auburn football and basketball, and was an avid White Plains basketball fan. He loved spending time with his family and anything to do with animals.
Dr. Beam is survived by his wife Judy Beam, his three children, Ryan Beam (Paula), Angie Cheatwood (Clint), Lori Meeks (Evan), his five grandchildren, Drennen (Journey), Layton (Courtnee), Brayden, Bryson (Olivia), and Paisley.
Dr. Beam was preceded in death by his father Ruben Isaac Beam, his mother Pauline Markley Wilson, his brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” McGrew, and granddaughter Keaten Ansley Beam.
Dr. Beam’s funeral services will be held at Golden Springs Baptist Church on May 16, 2026 with visitation from 10 AM to 12 PM, and services immediately following with Tim Shultz officiating.
