Susan Pfeil Harvey's Obituary
Memorial services for Susan Pfeil Harvey, age 63 of Anniston, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Anniston First Baptist Church at McClellan. Dr. Donnie Sills and her son, Rev. Michael Harvey officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
Mrs. Harvey passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, after a brief illness.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Tim Harvey; daughter, Rebecca Ponder (Ben); son, Michael Harvey (Ally); granddaughter, Ruth Ponder; mother, Ann Pfeil; sisters, Lisa Williams (Mark) and Melea Horton; and best friend, Nancy Denning.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Billy Pfeil; brother-in-law, Chuck Horton; and 2 precious grandchildren.
Mrs. Harvey was born in Cullman, Alabama, on November 23, 1961. She received her undergraduate degree from Auburn University and her Master’s from Jacksonville State University. She was a science teacher for 27 years, teaching at Anniston Middle School, Northside Methodist Academy in Dothan, White Plains High School, and Faith Christian School. Her impact on the lives of her students is still felt to this day. She was a member of Anniston First Baptist Church at McClellan. Mrs. Harvey also spent time working for the Baptist Service Center and volunteering at the Anniston Museum of Natural History. She was a proud member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a great friend to many and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
