Susan Denise Gilliland's Obituary
Susan Denise Gilliland, age 63, of Southside, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Gilliland was born on March 6, 1962, in Etowah County, Alabama, to Shirley and the late Dan Sieber and the late Edward Batey. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jimmy Gilliland; daughter Leigh Colvin (Jeremiah); son Adam Gilliland; grandchildren Peyton, Zane, and Axel Colvin; brother Danny Sieber (Misty); and numerous other cherished family members. Mrs. Gilliland was preceded in death by her sister Diane Graham (Joe).
A graduate from Southside High School, Class of 1980, Mrs. Gilliland dedicated 41 years to the healthcare industry as a Pharmacy Technician. She found joy in spending time at the beach, sharing special moments with her grandchildren, and teaching them to fish and swim at their lakeside property.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at The First United Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff; 3001 Alford Bend Rd, Hokes Bluff, AL 35903. A Celebration of Life Service, officiated by Pastor Ricky Smith, will follow from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m.
