Steven Wayne Gerstenlauer's Obituary
Steven Wayne Gerstenlauer age 74 of Bowdon Georgia passed away February 5th 2026. He was born July 2, 1951, in New Jersey.
Steve lived a life of faith and deep devotion to his family and friends. Steve loved going out for a good meal with his friends. He was best known for making people laugh and he deeply loved his grandchildren.
Steve moved to Georgia in 1981 to help start the Carrollton plant CBS Records, better known as Sony Music where he retired from in 2012.
After retirement he enjoyed his small farm life with his donkeys. He was known by all of the Tyus community for his spectacular Christmas lights.
Steve is survived by his wife Becky Chandler; sons Michael (Mary) Gerstenlauer of Carrollton, Mark Gerstenlauer of Pindergrass, Brian Gerstenlauer of Canton; daughters Nikia (Jose) Angel of Carrollton, Felicia (Shannon) Smith of Tallapoosa. Grandchildren Haven Weber, Nicole Parrish, Samantha Hartley, Belle Hartley, Hunter Prewett, Caden Gerstenlauer, twins Joselyn & Tristan Prewett. Great grandchildren Bryson, Camreigh & Finn Parrish and Louella Hartley. Sisters Dorothy (Thomas) Adams & Lois (Wilson) Odom.
He was preceded in death by parents William and Dorothy Gerstenlauer, brothers David & Jesse Gerstenlauer and son Steve Gerstenlauer Jr.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 21st, 2pm at Centralhatchee First Baptist Church. 212 Church street Franklin Georgia 30217.
In lieu of flowers donations can made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the ASPCA. Both were near and dear to his heart as he made yearly donations to both.
