Shirley Prater Minton's Obituary
Shirley Minton,76, of Oxford passed away on Saturday, July 4th at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Minton of Oxford; by her daughter, Christy Minton and husband Heath Pate of Ranburne; her grandson Hayden Simmons and wife, Alexis, of Ranburne; her great-grandchildren Nayvie and Luka Simmons; and her sister Rita Prater Vincent and husband Derrick along with several beloved nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Flora Dean Prater.
An intimate celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Sunday, July 19th at 2PM, in front of Coldwater Baptist Church where she and Ron were married.
Despite living with Multiple Sclerosis for many years, she faced life’s challenges with grace and determination. Her greatest joy was her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Shirley’s honor to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
