Sheila Darlene Cofield's Obituary
Sheila Darlene Cofield ‘Nene’ of Saks, Alabama, passed away surrounded by family at home on April 12, 2022. She was born in Anniston, Alabama, on July 26, 1948, grew up in Bynum, and attended Anniston High School. She had a 48-year career in the credit industry, working for the Anniston Credit Bureau, Equifax, and AOD Credit Union.
Sheila loved to read and paint, play games with her kids and grandkids, and take care of her dogs. Hundreds of games of ‘Gin’ and ‘Rummy’ were played in her living room. She was a great cook - maybe the best tacos in the state - and her house was always decorated with everything in its place. Lake Gerald in Delta, Alabama, the mountains in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and the beaches in Gulf Shores, Alabama were her favorite places to relax with family.
Sheila is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ronnie Cofield, stepdaughter Sheri (Jamie) Snow, stepson Keith (Andrea) Cofield, five grandchildren; Nick McCain (Emily), Kelcy Cofield, Katie Snow, Karsen Cofield and Keller Cofield, one great-grandchild Rylee Kate McCain, her sister, Joyce Guthrie Green, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Clay ‘Jack’ Guthrie and Violet Robinson ‘Maude’ Guthrie and her sister, Phyllis Guthrie Bryant.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 at 1696 Lake Gerald Circle, Delta, Al. from 2-4pm.
