Sandra Jean Penney's Obituary
Sandra Jean Penney, 75 of Gadsden, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at home surrounded by family in Snead. She was born in Gadsden on May 6, 1946.
Mrs. Penney was retired from Food World in Gadsden. She was a member of Gospel Truth Lighthouse Church in Gadsden. She especially enjoyed taking trips and traveling with friends.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Thomas "Mike" Penney; parents, Ethel and John D. Lyles; sister, Judy Mae Williams; and brothers, Phillip and Joel Dale Lyles.
She is survived by her son, Shay (Emily) Penney; daughter, Genia Penney; sister, Johnnie Oliver; sisters in law, Nyla (Brian) Holland and Norma (Bill) Schiffman; brother in law, Jimmy (Jane) Penney; grandchildren, Hunter, Lana and Connor Penney, and Derek and Erick Edwards; great grandchildren, Hazel and Kellie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special church friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Gospel Truth Lighthouse Church, 2315 Hill Avenue and Burns Street, Gadsden, Alabama. Pastor Larry Perkins officiating.
