Roy Michael "Mike" Gunter's Obituary
Roy Michael “Mike” Gunter, 59, of Talladega, Alabama, passed away on December 16, 2025 at home after a long illness. Mike was the proud owner of Southern Towers. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting, especially when he could share those moments with his children, family members and many friends.
Mike was a generous man, helping many underprivileged people working, building and paying for things for them. Mike loved his community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kristina Gunter; three sons, Michael Gunter, David Gunter, and Jeremy Gunter, all of Talladega; and three grandchildren, Alexis, Elijah, and Michael Gunter, all of Talladega.
He is also survived by his chosen parents, Travis and Becky Griffin of Talladega; one brother, Ara Gunter of Savannah, Georgia; and three sisters, Malinda Daniel of Millbrook, Alabama, Vivian Whitten (Randy) of Savannah, Georgia, and Heather Griffin. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Ara Gunter, and his mother, Sylvia Kelly. He was deeply loved by many, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
