Roger Glenn Strickland's Obituary
Roger Glenn Strickland, age 78 of Shinbone, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Gale Strickland; daughter, Marsha Conville (Donald); grandchildren, Cyndi Martin and Bayli Strickland; great grandchildren, Nevaeh Winns, Elawyn Valesquez and Gabriel Valesquez; and sisters, Linda Strickland and Imogene Yates.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Huel and Daisy Strickland; and brothers, Vernon Strickland, Carlton Strickland, Jimmy Strickland and Gary Strickland.
Roger was a life long carpenter who could build anything. He was also blessed with natural mechanical and musical skills and self taught himself to play any musical instrument that he picked up. He worked for the State of Alabama for 15 years on the construction crew, working to help build Cheaha State Park. Roger was also part of the founding of the volunteer fire department and a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Shinbone. He was a good husband, father and grandfather.
A memorial service will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Shinbone.
