Robert Steven Battles' Obituary
Mr. Robert Steven ((Rubber Legs)) Battles passed peacefully in Anniston, Alabama on May 7, 2021 at the age of 59 surrounded by his family.
Robert was born in Birmingham, Alabama on Jan 16th, 1962 – and spent the majority of his life in Birmingham and east Alabama with his immediate family (Shirley, Somer, & Daniele).
Robert is survived by his children, Somer Battles Barchini (Leti Barchini) & Daniele Battles Otwell (Bryan Otwell), by his mother Billie Joan (Evans) Battles, and his brother Guy Battles (Donna Legg-Battles). His grandchildren (Karli & Dawson Otwell), and his nephews and niece, (Noah, Seth Robert, & Sarah Ellen)
He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Sturdy Battles, along with his grandparents and other family members, and countless childhood friends.
At this time, a date for a memorial service will not be set; however, you can send handwritten respects/condolences to 805 Shadywood Ter Birmingham AL 35206. In lieu of flowers, please send up a big “”ROLL TIDE” to heaven! He would love that more than anything!
Robert…. Rubber Legs…. Legs…. Dad. You will be missed beyond measure – you’re humor, your laugh, your love for Alabama football, and your heart, and your ability to care for others at all times. Until we see you again… rest in heaven & Roll Tide!
