Richard L. Cullen Jr.'s Obituary
Richard L. Cullen, Jr., of Duggar Mountain Road in Piedmont, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on December 18, 2025, after living with Alzheimer’s.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Nances Creek Worship Center (100 Hobson Circle, Piedmont, AL 36272), officiated by Pastor John Cole.
Born on August 15, 1953, he was the beloved son of June Patricia Ryan Townsend and Richard L. Cullen, both of whom preceded him in death.
On April 26, 1975, Richard married Virginia Nations. His career took him across the United States, where he worked on a variety of structural steel projects. He played a role in constructing nuclear plants, Universal Studios, schools, hospitals, and malls.
As a dedicated member of Nances Creek Worship Center in Piedmont, Richard found joy in Alabama football, woodworking, and scuba diving.
He leaves behind his cherished wife, Virginia N. Cullen of Piedmont; his children, Ryan Cullen of Springfield, Missouri, and Katrina D. Christensen of Daytona Beach, Florida; his grandchildren, Skyler Rich of Harrison, Arkansas, Devin Rich of Wichita, Kansas, Mackenzie Cullen of Springfield, Missouri, and Sarah Wagner of Argo, Alabama; as well as three great-grandsons.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Enhabit Hospice of Anniston and the members of Nances Creek Worship Center for their unwavering support and encouragement during this challenging time.
