Rebecca (Becky) Jane Clifton's Obituary
Rebecca (Becky) Jane Clifton, 80, of Anniston, Alabama, passed away on January 9th, 2023.
Because Becky celebrated life, no formal funeral services will be held. The family invites anyone who wishes to share in Becky's memory or express condolences to join them for a celebration of life to honor her spirit. The celebration will be held from 3 pm-5 pm on Saturday, January 14th, at the Jacksonville Community Center at 501 Alexandria Rd SW, Jacksonville, Alabama 36265.
Rebecca (Becky) Clifton was born in Anniston, Alabama, to Odell and June Cheatwood on July 2nd, 1942. She was one of two children. Becky shared many wonderful years with her husband, Horace (Randy) Clifton, before his passing. She had a career of over 30 years in banking and finance with Regions Bank, formerly First Alabama Bank, in Anniston. She served as the senior vice president for several years prior to retiring. After retirement, she remained active, enjoying the outdoors and traveling. Becky loved nature, often going on hikes, visiting the museum, and spending time at her lake house. She was an animal lover and adored her dog, Dixie. One of Becky’s favorite hobbies was traveling to Louisiana to spend time with her granddaughter Rachael. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Saks. Becky would want those mourning her loss to know she was prepared and eager to meet her lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She shared his word and love with anyone who would lend a listening ear. Becky succumbed to a heart attack and passed quickly but peacefully with her family surrounding her.
Becky is preceded in death by her parents, Odell and June Cheatwood, and her husband, Horace (Randy) Clifton.
Becky is survived by her son, Donovan Clifton (Jackie); grandchildren, Kristin Rivers (Cody), Rachael Clifton, and Austin Sanstead; great-grandchild, Brayden Rivers; sister Barbara Phillips; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their thanks to Elizabeth (Liz) Crane and the doctors, nurses, and staff at Erlanger Health Systems in Chattanooga for the care they provided her and the family in her last days.
