Randy Dale Brothers' Obituary
The Lord has chosen at this time to call home another angel, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, Randy Dale Brothers. Mr. Brothers was born in Etowah County on September 26, 1952 and was raised in Gadsden, Alabama. He has been a resident of Attalla, Alabama since September of 1990. He was retired from Midsouth Industries and prior to that worked at Republic Steel later known as LTV. He graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1970. He also graduated from Jacksonville State University with a BS in Business Administration and later he received his electrical degree from Gadsden State Community College.
Like his father before him, Randy was brought up knowing how to fix anything. He could work on cars, do any repairs to his house whether it was plumbing, electrical or major repairs and helped his extended family when needed. Randy will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Brothers died on Wednesday March 29, 2023. He was proceeded in death by his father, Alvis Brothers; two brothers, Curtis Lavell Brothers and Phil Ray Brothers; one sister, Sherry Dianne Brothers Tanner and one nephew Anthony (Tony) Darrell Brothers. He is survived by his wife of 42 years and the love of his life Lynne Brothers, one daughter Brandy Brothers Townsend, two granddaughters Ally Townsend and Cammy Townsend, his mother Ruth Hazel Brothers, brother Rodger Alan (Doris) Brothers, sister Kathy Lynn Brothers, sister-in-law Lori Wood, two nephews Josh (Kim) Tanner and Austin Chastain, three nieces Jenny Tanner, Tony's wife Susan Hallman Brothers and Courtney Coleman, four great nephews, Clint (Haley) Brothers, Chase Tanner, Jaxon Freeman and Isaiah Wingo, and two great nieces, Allie Tanner and Shyanne Freeman. Randy was affectionately called "Uncle Goofy" by his nephews and nieces.
There will be no services for Randy at his request. His body will be cremated and his ashes given to his wife Lynne.
The family especially wants to thank Tyler Pence and Josh Phillips from Amedisys Hospice for their excellent care of Randy.
