Polly Ann McCoy's Obituary
Polly Ann McCoy ( Saxon), age 69, passed away peacefully with family at her side on May 3rd, 2026, in Heflin, Alabama. Born on June 23, 1956, in Ashland, Alabama, Polly lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family.
Polly earned her diploma in General Studies and went on to build a career as a seamstress at Robinson Manufacture. Later in life, she became the co-owner of Crossroads Pizza, where she touched the lives of many. Family was at the heart of Polly’s life.
She is survived by her beloved daughters: Kathy Saxon, Dawn Vinson, and Amanda Wilson; her cherished grandchildren: Stephen Lacey (Stephanie), Thomas Carter, Allen Patterson, Hunter Lacey, Heather Sorensen (Lance), Kayla Patterson, Alexander Fordham, and Christian Behel; and her treasured great-grandchildren: Lillian Sorensen and Zander Sorensen. Polly also leaves behind her sisters: Connie Burford (Dennis), Sue Jenkins, Lisa Severio (Alvin), and Kathy Saxon.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband James “Buddy” McCoy; her parents William “Bill” Saxon and Lena Irvin Hughes; her brothers Billy Saxon and James “Jabo” Saxon; and her sister Vickie Jo Saxon Wilson.
Polly found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading—especially her Bible in recent years—and spent countless hours fishing with family members. She enjoyed playing video games with her late husband Buddy McCoy and board games with her sisters. Sitting on her porch watching hummingbirds feed brought her peace and happiness.
A member of Hope United Pentecostal Church in Anniston, Alabama, Polly’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her love for God deepened over the years, as did her admiration for Pastor Robert Hall and his late wife Rose. Polly’s spirited personality—described as feisty yet loving—endeared her to all who knew her. She cherished not only her family but also the friends she held close throughout the years.
Polly’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May they find comfort in remembering the warmth of her smile, the strength of her spirit, and the depth of her love for God and family.
