Penny Walker Shierling's Obituary
Memorial services for Penny Walker Shierling, age 60 of Oxford, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at The Magnolia House at Cremation Services of East Alabama. Pastor Chris Connell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Shierling passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
She is survived by her daughters, Meagan Shierling (Justin) and Paige Meads (Dakota); grandchildren, Tucker and Scarlett Meads, and Lucy and Emmaleigh Singleton; and sister, Claudetta Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Lois Walker; and siblings, Paul Walker, Susan Walker and stillborn baby boy Matthew.
Penny was born and raised in Oxford and was a 1983 graduate of Oxford High School. She was a 2011 graduate of Jacksonville State University with a degree in social work, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with her masters from the University of Alabama. Penny worked for Oxford Walmart for 10+ years. She grew up at Blue Springs Baptist Church and was a Christian.
Penny was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her grandbabies.
