Norman L. Miller's Obituary
On Thursday Sept. 12 2019, Norman L. Miller, "Chief Miller", loving husband and father passed away suddenly in Prattville, Alabama at age 75. Norm was born in 1944 at Algoa Arkansas to George Daniel and Melissa (Lashlee) Miller. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia (McGee) Miller, daughters Chris Miller of Lake Mary Florida, Kim (Miller) and David Widel, and grandchildren Molly and Philip Widel of Beverly Hills Florida.
His surviving siblings include two sisters: Betty and husband Jerry Carlew of Newport Arkansas, Charlene Mann of Weldon Arkansas; three brothers Hershel and wife Maxine of Newport Arkansas, Billy and wife Lois of Moshina Tennesse, G.D. and wife Phyllis of Holts Summit Missouri, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Eldora Shelley, Dorothy Miller, an infant, and three brothers Henry Miller, Truman Miller, and Danny Miller.
Norm was a graduate of Beedeville High School, class of 1962. He enlisted in the Air Force, serving 28 years as a Security Policeman, achieving the highest NCO rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He was a Veteran of Vietnam and Desert Shield. He graduated in 1984 from Park University, Parkville, Missouri., with a degree in Criminal Justice.
Norm enjoyed hunting, watching the Razorbacks, visiting with family and engaging in community service. He was an active member of the Prattville Alabama Church of Christ, where he was involved in many areas of service including the food bank, CASA classes, and foreign work missions. He was always willing to help if needed, and shared his sense of humor with everyone he met. He will be missed.
His body will be cremated with the assistance of Cremation Services of East Alabama. There are no plans for visitation or services at this time. In lieu of flowers, Family suggests a memorial donation to Mt. Dora Children's Home, 301 W. 13th Ave, Mt. Dora, FL 32757.
