Nancy Sharon Bruce age 77 of Oxford Alabama, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and friend, passed on December 20,2025. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith leave a legacy that will be cherished for generations.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Alee Bruce Sr., her father James Edwin Thomas, her mother Dorothy Thomas, her sister Louise Williams, daughter Angel Lynn Bruce, and Granddaughter Krista Bruce. She is survived by her devoted brothers Jimmy Thomas, Charles Thomas, Gary Thomas, and Bruce Thomas, as well as her loving sisters Bonnie Shirley and Doris Dickerson. Nancy also leaves behind her six children, Jerry Alee Bruce Jr., Thomas Edwin Bruce, Stevie Glenn Bruce, James Robert Bruce, and her daughter Candace Renee Denney. Nancy was blessed with many grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
She was a member of Blue Mountain Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama where she found joy in fellowship, worship, and the comfort of her church family. Nancy had a vibrant spirit and a love for life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed traveling, exploring new places, and taking in local shows and entertainment. One of her greatest passions was country and western dance, where she not only participated but also taught and led classes.
She loved bringing people together through music, dance, and laughter. Nancy’s life was defined by love—love for her family, her faith, her community, and the experiences that made her smile. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
