Michael Robert LaGessie's Obituary
Michael Robert LaGessie, Mike, 79, of Jacksonville, AL, passed away April 18, 2025 at his home on the lake he loved so much. Mike was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. He grew up a hard worker and aspired to own his own business. He started out helping his father at the family gas station then owning his own towing company and pool cleaning business. In his thirties, Mike became interested in Midas Auto Service and moved to NC to take a job in the corporate office to learn more about the business. The following year, he moved his family to Marietta, GA to purchase his first of 5 Midas shops. Mike loved the business and two of his sons followed in his path. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Florida and then he finally settled in Jacksonville, Alabama where he spent his final years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. LaGessie and Betty Jane Whitten and his sister, Patricia Alfieri. Those left to commemorate his memory are his wife Alice Brannon LaGessie, children Todd and Jennifer LaGessie, Timothy and Shannon LaGessie, Scott LaGessie, and Jonathan LaGessie, Granddaughter and Son in Law Marina and Dallas Parrish and, Grandson, Michael LaGessie. A private memorial will be held at the family home.
