Graveside services for Margie Newell, age 95 of Jacksonville, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Jacksonville City Cemetery. Rev. Ronnie Spears will officiate.
Mrs. Newell passed away on August 12, 2025, at her residence in Jacksonville.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Farmer (Gary), Gary Newell (Shelly), and Keith Newell; step daughter, Gail Williamson (Nicky); grandchildren, Scotty Smith, Kyle Newell, Brooke Bryant and Brittany Newell; great grandchildren, Ethan Smith, Kaylee Lambert, Hayden Pate, River Newell, Rain Newell, Hayley Parris, Tristan Parris, Jayden Maddox and Emory Maddox; great-great grandchildren, Lorelai Lambert, Angela Parris and Kenley Kirk; brother, Bobby Brooks; and many nieces and nephews.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Zora Brooks; husbands, Arnold Newell and Cecil Burns; and siblings, James, Rueben, Tommy, Jackie, Ralph and Paul Brooks, Stella Howard, Pauline McCormmick, Hazel Cobb, Grace Sears, Frances White and Alice Turner.
Margie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a Christian and was a member of House of God.
