Marc Scott VanRysselberge's Obituary
Marc Scott VanRysselberge, age 50 of Atlanta, GA, left this world March 1, 2021. There will be a private graveside service 11:00 am EST Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Arlington Cemetery in Sandy Springs, GA, with Reverend Dr. Bill Murray of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church officiating. Following this there will be a private Celebration of Life service at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church. A live virtual service will be offered for those unable to attend due to COVID protocols. Marc was preceded in death by his father, John VanRysselberge. He is survived by his mother, Judy VanRysselberge; brothers Greg and Jeff (Debbie); two nieces, Allie VanRysselberge and Lauren VanRysselberge.
Being the youngest of three boys, Marc worked hard to earn his big brothers’ approval for all that he did, whether it was wrestling, running, skiing, or cooking. He was an accomplished athlete and enjoyed competing in Ironman competitions. He trained hard and was focused on the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle, while often enjoying the rewards of being outdoors. One of Marc’s favorite pastimes was cooking for others. Marc had a passion for ensuring others had the very best experiences. He was quick to offer help whenever anyone needed it, and he was an amazing caregiver to his mother. Marc made friends easily and maintained lifelong friendships. He was known for his grace and compassion by all who knew him. He was always ready for an adventure and took great pride in being well-traveled.
