Lucy Cason Reaves' Obituary
Ms. Lucy, as she was affectionately known in the community, passed peacefully at her home in Iron City on Saturday, June 10, 2023. She was special to everyone who knew and loved her. Ms. Lucy had several great loves in her life, her husband Billy Reaves, many furbabies, her niece Nikki Gardner (Husband: Joey, sons: Landon, Tanner, Jaxon) and granddaughter Magen Hubbard (Husband: Brenton Munroe[preceded in death], Children: Nora, Crosby) She loved to socialize with her favorite local store employees on her endless outing and there was not a thing she would not do for someone in need. Her kindness, love and humor will live on in our memories.
Lucy was preceded in death by many, most notably her husband, Billy “Cap” Reaves, her parents Jesse W. Cason and Juanita Bowlin Cason, Sister Donna Cason Easterwood, Sisters-in-law Pam Storey and Brenda Cason, Nephews Jamie and Kevin Kiker, and Grandson-in-law Brenton Munroe.
She is survived by her siblings: Erlene (Eddie) Cantrell, Jesse Cason, and James (Karen) Cason; Step children: Kelly Reaves Heifner and Shane Reaves; Grand daughter Magen Hubbard Munroe and niece Nikki Cason Gardner, who Lucy considered her daughters; Grandsons: Dalton and Hunter Heifner; Great grand children: Nora and Crosby Munroe and Sadie Slaughter; Nieces and Nephews: Teresa (Bruce) Johnson Dawn Peters, Chris Kiker; Great Nephews : Landon, Tanner, and Jaxon Gardner, Tyler and Riley Johnson, as well as, a myriad of other loving family members on both her husbands side and her own, including her sisters- in- law, their families and children's families.
The family would like to issue special gratitude to Lucy's precious step daughter, Kelly Reaves Heifner and the nurses from New Beacon Hospice for angelicly guiding our 'Ain't Lucy' 'Mawmaw' ' Lou' 'Ms.Lucy'....into the light.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to The League for Animal Welfare, Anniston AL, in Lucy’s honor, as she was a DogMom before all else and was preceded in death by: Huzzy, Precious, Lulu, Molly, & Little bit.
May she and her heavenly family rejoice in their reunion until we too may join them.
A celebration of life will be scheduled in the future.
