Lonnie Gene Higginbotham's Obituary
It is with a broken heart that I share the passing of my father, Lonnie Gene Higginbotham, who, on February 21st at the age of 84, finally got to go home and be with his
beloved wife and best friend, Frances, after many painful months of separation.
At the time of his passing he was at home, comforted by his daughter and son-in-law, Gena and Noah Cleveland. Luckily, we were not alone in caring for him. The support of family and special friends was such a blessing during this difficult time. An active life of challenging labor, often as his own boss, had made him unfit for a life confined to his bed, and the time he was bound there was thankfully short.
Not afraid to put a level on a level, Dad was certain that there was one RIGHT way to do a job, and that was the only way to do it. From picking fruit as a child to digging wells, building houses, and
a hundred other things as a man, he was conscientious and methodical. To his family and friends he was solid and dependable, silly and fun-loving.
Interment will be Tuesday, February 25th at Ohatchee Number 2 Cemetery, in the Williams Community. He will be laid to rest with his wife, Frances, and daughter, Sutton, who preceded him in death.
