Laura Blankenship's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laura Blankenship on February 1, 2025, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was 66. She passed away peacefully at home with family and her cherished pets by her side.
Laura was born to Doyle and Dorothy Hurst in April 28, 1958, in Anniston, AL. After attending Oxford High School she worked as a Pathology Technologist at Northeast Regional Medical Center. Her innate talent to care for others lead her to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Laura was a member of the Girl Scouts of America and a member of DeArmanville United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, reading and fishing. You rarely came to her home without enjoying a meal or leaving with a plate. Laura, with her mother by her side, earned her Master Gardener’s Certification. But what everyone may remember most is her infectious sense of humor. She was born with it and made sure she gave a lively laugh to everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Blankenship, her parents Doyle Hurst, Dorothy Hurst, her daughter Sarah Brett Blakenship, sisters Debra Hill and Cynthia Livingston and niece Elizabeth Erin Black.
Those living who will carry forth memories of her life include her son Brian (Morgan) Blankenship, her daughter Amy (Nick) Blankenship, brother Tim (Susan) Hurst, sisters Elizabeth Black and Emily (Gary) Hurst Martin, grand children Jacob Blakenship, Logan Ford, Ripley Britton, Aniken Britton and Riley Britton. And many dear nieces and nephews and their children.
A Memorial will be held at DeArmanville Methodist Church, DeArmanville, AL on Saturday, February 15th, at 11:00 am.
