Kenneth Walter Pitts' Obituary
Kenneth Walter Pitts was born on August 23, 1956 in Anniston, Alabama and passed away on March 16, 2023 in Montgomery, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his brother Paul Pitts, parents Mavis Vines Pitts and James Walter Pitts.
He is survived by siblings, Virginia from Florida, Barbara, Jim and Mellissa from Alabama; his children Ken, Trinda and Paul, grandchildren Ahmahri, Jamahri, Leo and Chase, great-grandchildren Melody and Koda, all from California.
Ken joined the US Navy and served on the USS Enterprise stationed in Guam. He was discharged in California where he lived until moving back to Alabama in 2019 to be with his elderly father.
Ken worked in the petroleum service industry for most of his life, which required extensive travel throughout California, remote locations in Alaska, Nevada, Utah, and New Mexico and work on the California offshore platforms. Aside from life in California, he also lived in the Netherlands for three years.
Ken had extensive general knowledge and often shared trivial and important data. He never met a stranger and was always very generous to the needy, fellow veterans and his family alike.
He loved classic rock and country music, enjoyed camping, fishing, Dodgers baseball and Roll Tide Roll. He also enjoyed food from Southern to Mexican to Asian cuisines.
A memorial service and the scattering of his ashes took place in Alabama on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
