Judy L Walker's Obituary
The family of Judy Meads Walker is sad to announce to our family and friends that she passed away early morning, April 27, 2020 at the age of 55.
She was preceded in death by her father Bobby F Meads Sr. and mother Judy Weaver Ayres.
She is survived by her son Nick and Jordon Walker (Adeline) Sister Ellen Meads Wilson, brother Bob and Staci Meads and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was able to spend the last several months under the care and love of her close family as she battled a short illness. Judy was a gifted teacher and beloved faculty member of the Pell City School System. She previously taught for many years throughout the state of Florida. She had a long and exceptional career as an educator and touched the lives of students and peers alike. The outpouring of well wishes, notes, gifts, and support from her students, colleagues and friends has been a great comfort to her family and a tribute to her brilliance as an educator and devotion to her friends, family and community. Due to the current Pandemic, we regret we are not able to have a formal service at this time, but are planning on having a life celebration of Judy as soon as we are able.
Because of her great passion for writing, language and history, the Families of Ellen Meads Wilson, Bob And Staci Meads, and Nick and Jordon Walker have set up the Judy Walker Memorial Scholarship Fund through Metro Bank in Pell City. The scholarship will go into effect next school year for students of Pell City High School who display excellence in communication, language arts, or history, and are pursuing a degree and career in education. We are asking for donations to this fund in lieu of flowers to the family. Local friends and family can donate to this fund at Metro Bank in Pell City. For the great number of friends, former students and colleagues who are not local, you may contribute to the fund by mail. Simply make a check out to the Judy Walker Memorial Scholarship Fund for any amount, and mail it to: Metro Bank, 800 Martin Street South, Pell City, Alabama, 35128. It is our wish to renew the funding for this scholarship every year in order to honor her life and service to her students.
Please keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days as we navigate the loss of a much loved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
