Judith Edwinta "Judy" Beck's Obituary
Judith Edwinta (Judy) Beck, 77, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in Camp Lejeune, NC to Master Sargent Edward O. Beck, Sr. and Lillian White Beck. After her father retired from the Marine Corp, the family moved back home to Jacksonville, where Judith graduated from Jacksonville High School.
Judith is survived by her daughters Stephanie Gossett (Jeff) and Jennifer Borders (Jason), grandchildren Anna Anderson (Cory), Chloe Borders, great-grandson, Crew Anderson, one brother, Edward O. Beck, Jr.; nephews Bobby Browning (Diane), David Beck (Terry),
nieces Debbie Nelson (Buck), and niece Cherie Browning; along with several great nephews and nieces.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers-in-law Ann Hill (Charles), Hazel Browning (James), Betty Barr (Emmett), sister in law Glenda Beck, and nephews Mickey Hill, Buddy Barr, and Christopher Beck.
Judith spent over 40 years in the grocery business. She worked at several grocery stores throughout her career, but retired as the store manager from Save-A-Lot in Anniston.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, and most of all, her love for Jesus Christ. Judith was a member of FBC Eagle Point in Jacksonville, AL. She was generous, loved sharing her faith, and the Gospel of Jesus with others. She believed that accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior was the most important decision a person can make.
Judith also enjoyed reading, watching movies, her cats, and spending time with family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Baptist Church Eagle Point in Jacksonville on August 5, 2023. Reverend Todd Borders will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am with the service beginning at 11:00 am. The family will have a private memorial at a later time. The family would like to thank the ER, 7 South, SICU, and Respiratory Therapy Staff at Gadsden Regional Hospital for the excellent care and compassion they provided to Judith during her illness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Forward as One Campaign, FBC Eagle Point, 301 Henry Road SW, Jacksonville, AL 36265 in honor of Judith Beck.
