Juanita Wynn Shelton's Obituary
Juanita Wynn Shelton, of Heflin Alabama, passed away on July 18, 2026.
She was born on July 4,1948 in Alamogordo, NM to Gertrude & James
Wynn and they always knew that she was a sure Firecracker!!
She grew up in Alamogordo, NM, where she was not only the mom of 4
kids but she was also known as the “Town Mom” to so many kids in the
area. She was apart of the Alamogordo Church of God, where she went to
Church for many years, the Alamogordo High School Booster Club and
worked for a wonderful lady by the name of Montein McNatt where she
learned tax preparation for so many people.
In 1986, she packed up her children and moved to Heflin Alabama. This is
where she met her husband Bill Shelton and was Blessed enough to be
mom of 3 more boys and later, they had a beautiful baby girl (which was
the apple of both of their eyes). They were married for 31 wonderful years
before Bill passed away.
She was a devout Christian Women (You could say a Proverbs 31 Woman)
and Her legacy continues through the people she influenced, the lives she
helped save, and the enduring values she represented.
The friendships she formed for so many years and the opportunities to
meet people and to share the Love of God was her most Honored times.
Nita will be dearly missed by her Children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren along with many loving friends.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Davis (Barbara), Terry Davis ( Tammy),
Dean Bryant, Bryan Shelton (Christie) Dennis Shelton and Bobby Shelton
(Dana); her daughters, TJ Davis-Boyd (Tim), Lela Stanfield; her brothers,
Tommy Wynn, Billy Wynn (Donna), Eddie Wynn (Phyllis), Sammy Wynn
(Shirley), Freddy Wynn (Jane), her sisters, Mary Brock, Paula
Tompkins (Kyle) and Sheila Smith (Tony) her beloved 20 Grandchildren, 31
Great Grandchildren and 1 grand dog (Can you say she was truly Blessed)
Nita was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Shelton, her parents
James and Gertrude Wynn and many Aunts and Uncles.
A celebration of Nita’s life will be held on August 1, 2026, with Visitation
beginning at 1:00pm followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm at
Cornerstone Worship Center in Anniston Alabama with the Rev. Michael
Cox, Rev. Chad Pesnell, Alex Payne and Rev Cody Shelton officiating.
Although Bill Shelton passed away on November 6, 2019, due to Nita’s
illness, the family was not able to have a ceremony at that time so we will
also be having a celebration of life for Bill Shelton at this same time.
Whether you knew one of them or both of them, your presence would mean
so much to our family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Larson and all of his Staff at Northwest
Georgia Oncology Center in Carrollton GA (Tanner Medical Center),the
Nurses at the Chemotherapy Ward at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton,
GA and The two Hospice nurses, Celest and Courtney, that took
exceptional care of our mother during her last couple of days of her life.
In lieu of flowers, Nita requested that memorial contributions be made to
