Juanita "Nita" Lee Ownby's Obituary
Juanita "Nita" Lee Ownby, age 75, formerly of Temple, Georgia, passed away at her retirement home on beautiful Weiss Lake in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, on October 8, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee; and mother, Willie Mae Morgan.
Mrs. Ownby is survived by her husband, Gregory Ownby; children, Sandi Littleton of Douglasville, Georgia, John Dewberry (Candie) of Temple, Georgia, and Jeff Dewberry (Darlene) of Temple, Georgia; grandchildren, Ashley Dodson (Ty) of Temple, Georgia, Kensey Littleton of Carrollton, Georgia, Brooke Lewallen (Matt) of Smyrna, Georgia, Emily Dewberry of Temple, Georgia, and Shane Harman (Marlana) of Temple, Georgia; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Ronald Lee (Jane) of Temple, Georgia; and a niece and nephews.
Nita, as she was affectionately known, was born and raised in Temple, Georgia, before retiring with her husband to the incredible views of their Weiss Lake retirement home in Cedar Bluff, which they poured their heart and soul into.
She was an awesome wife, momma, sister, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, and great grandmother.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at the Senior Center, 280 Rome Street, Temple, Georgia 30179. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service at the
Senior Center.
