Jerry Rickey Green's Obituary
Jerry Rickey Green, age 76, of Alexandria, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on October 20, 2025.
A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Rickey served his country with honor from 1967 to 1978, achieving the rank of Sergeant. During his distinguished service, he completed a combat tour in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 and later served as both a Marine Corps Drill Instructor and a Military Police Officer. His leadership, discipline, and unwavering sense of duty left a lasting impact on those he trained and served alongside.
Following his military career, Rickey continued his service to the nation as an employee at the Anniston Army Depot, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.
Rickey is survived by his daughters, Tracey (Dustin) Herrin, Carrie (Clint) Dunaway, and Lori (Josh) Dillaha; his siblings, Carol Smith and Ronald (Carol) Green; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Green; his parents, Jerry Green and Marjorie Sutley; his son, Gregory Green; his sister, Beverly Ray; and his grandchildren, Jade and Soraya Kowatch.
Rickey will be remembered as a loving husband and father, a beloved friend, and a man of strength, conviction, and perseverance. Those who knew him will never forget his stubborn spirit, his steady presence, and the deep love he had for his family.
A memorial service to celebrate Rickey’s life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at United Fellowship Baptist Church, 161 Becky Turner Rd., Alexandria, AL 36250. Rev. Chris Clay will be officiating.
