Jerry Dele Eaton's Obituary
A Celebration of Life for Jerry Dele Eaton, 81, of Anniston, Alabama will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Trinity Baptist Church in Oxford, Alabama. The service will begin at 11:00 AM with Dr. C.O. Grinstead officiating.
Mr. Eaton passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Clyde and Mary Lou Mullins Eaton; five sisters, Mary Jean Wesley, Erma Lee Jones, Peggy Sue Douglass, Nancy Joy Smith, and Pamela Dale Kenzie; two brothers, Lon Kenneth Eaton, and William Terry Eaton, and a grandson, Jake Jones.
Jerry Dele Eaton was born April 29, 1944. He was the sixth child and middle son of 12 children. He graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1963 and was the owner of the former Hall Building Materials in Anniston, Alabama.
Jerry was a loyal brother who was fiercely protective of his family. He was a loving and caring man who never met a stranger and would give anyone in need his last dime. He was an avid golfer and spent many days at the golf course competing and enjoying the sport with friends.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife (his 'Gertie Maye' as he called her), Eleanor Holladay; his children, Bob Eaton (Lynn) and Lynn Jones (Jason); four sisters, Doris Mason (Roger), Glenda Eaton Knight, Kathi Eaton (George), and Rita Eaton Bowyer (Mike); two sisters-in-law, Myra Eaton and Brenda Eaton; three stepsons, Phil Holladay (Melinda), John Holladay (Katy), and Marc Holladay (Mary); and 12 grandchildren who he loved and adored, Hayden Eaton, Anna Eaton, Jase Jones, Paisley Jones, Kristin Holladay, Ashley Holladay, Mary Kate Holladay, Margaret Holladay, Mariana Holladay, Madeline Holladay, and Philip Holladay. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
