Jerre "Pops" Humphries Sr's Obituary
Jerre Humphries Sr. "Pops" born January 14th, 1942, passed away with loved ones near his side at his home on July 5th, 2022, at the age of 80. The world has lost a great father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and leader.
He is survived by his 3 children; Sherry Kiker (Rick), Donnie Humphries (Amy) and Bard Humphries, his grandchildren; Amanda Pitts, Gareth Kiker, Kasey Kiker, Kerry Kiker, Nathan Donaldson, Trey Humphries; and 10 great grandchildren.
Jerre was a lifelong Carpenter. His craftsmanship, regardless of the skill involved, reflected real caring, and that reflected his attitude about himself, about life, and the love he had for for his family.
Everyone that knew Jerre, knew what a big fan he was of Alabama Football, and how he enjoyed having a house full of friends and family over to watch the games. If he wasn't watching football, you could always count on him watching an old Western movie he had seen over and over.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, he is survived by his 2 sisters, Pat Leahey and Marie Humphries, along with many friends that are like family.
Jerre was greeted in Heaven by his wife, Bobbie Humphries; son, Gerald Humphries; daughter, Lesa Donaldson; and brother Stevie Blair.
A celebration of Jerre's life will be held at his residence; 912 Juliette Dr. Oxford Al. July 8th, 2022 for friends and family from 5-7 pm.
At his request there will not be a viewing or funeral service
