Janis Kay Patterson's Obituary
Janis Kay Patterson, age 75, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family
Born on September 20, 1950, Jan grew up in a large, lively family that helped shape her sharp wit, resilient spirit, and unmistakable presence. She carried that strength with her throughout her life. She was a devoted mom, Gramma, sister, Aunt Jan, and friend to so many. However, she was also known for her unforgettable voice, and her way of commanding any room without permission. She inhabited songs and told stories through them, leaving those around her in awe, and creating a legacy that won’t soon be forgotten.
Jan was preceded in death by her beloved parents William “Bill” Patterson and Charlene Patterson, sister, Char; and her brothers, Coy, Thomas “Bo”, and Harold.
She is survived by her sons, Billy (KayKay) and Travis (Shannon); her granddaughters, Brooklyn (Jai), Malorie, and Stefanie (Dustin); her grandsons, Daniel (Kayla) and Aaron (Amanda); and her great-granddaughter, Everly. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon; her brother, Tom (Diana); and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Please join the family for a Celebration of Life Saturday, March 7th, 2026, 2pm at Dry Valley Baptist Church.
