James Melvin Brown Jr.'s Obituary
In loving memory of James M. Brown Jr., who was born on February 28, 1949, and peacefully passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 76.
James was a devoted member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Heflin, AL. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Venna Benefield Brown. Though he deeply missed her, he found happiness in being surrounded by family.
He is survived by his daughter, Tabatha Brown Terry (Andy) of Heflin, AL, and cherished his role as grandfather to Jacob Terry. James also leaves behind many sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of his life and faith will take place at Oak Grove Baptist Church, County Road 66 in Heflin, AL, on March 7, 2026, at 12:00 pm. The service will be led by Mac Prichard, Donald Leggett, and Shane Leggett.
