Ilka Bauerle's Obituary
Ilka Bauerle, born on June 17, 1941, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 13, 2025 after a long battle with cancer.
Ilka Lueckemeyer was born in Hannover, Germany, the daughter of Hans and Gisela Lueckemeyer. Ilka married Albrecht (Al) Bauerle of Mundelsheim, Germany in 1964. After a short time in Huntsville in the mid-60’s, they eventually immigrated to Huntsville in 1974, where they enjoyed their life. Ilka and Al shared 36 fun-filled years before he sadly died in December 2000. She is survived by her sister Jutta and brother-in-law Rudi, her son Dirk, and her daughter Kerstin with her husband Tore and Ilka’s grandson Henry. She enjoyed gardening, her pool, going to the beach, and generally being outside in the lovely Alabama summer sunshine.
A wake was held February 17 at the house; her ashes will be scattered on May 3, 2025.
