Helen May Corrigan's Obituary
Helen May Corrigan nee Petersen. Born in 1928 in Wilton Junction, Iowa to Leonard and Mable Petersen and raised on the family farm with her brother, Vernon Petersen. Helen married Joseph H. Corrigan, Jr. and they raised four children. While living in Ballston Spa, NY, she worked as a real estate agent for Elmstrom Reality until 1967, when the family relocated to Eldridge, Iowa for her husband's work with the Army Corps of Engineers. White in Eldridge, she started her own craft supply business out of the basement of the house. In 1972, the family relocated to Severna Park, MD where she grew her small business into The Golden Egg Inc., an international wholesale/retail/catalogue supplier of craft supplies. Helen was also well known for her hobby of designing decorated eggshells, winning many awards for her creations. She traveled the country participating in craft shows and teaching craft seminars. She and her husband retired in 1990 and relocated to Tucson, AZ. Helen is survived by 3 of her children, Vickie Winger, David Corrigan, and Sherry Conder, four grand children, and four great grand children.
