George Junior Gallahar's Obituary
Oxford – George Junior Gallahar age 74 of Oxford, Alabama passed away on Wednesday March 10th at Grandview Medical center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Mr. Gallahar was born on October 18th, 1946 in Talladega, Alabama to the late Lessie Ellard Gallahar and George William Gallahar.
Mr. Gallahar attended Oxford High School and Gadsden State Community College. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He completed a long career as a millwright at the Union Foundry Steel Corporation in Anniston retiring in 2015. Mr. Gallahar was a loyal University of Alabama football fan all his life and loved the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Mr. Gallahar is survived by his wife Patricia Fencl Gallahar, a native of Oceanside, New York to whom he was married for 54 years. He also leaves behind a son, Joseph Gallahar, a daughter- in-law Heather Lott Gallahar, three grand children - Ashlyn Brooke, Channing Taylor, and Hayden Matthew, and three sisters Sandy Savage of Tennessee, Rhonda Harrell of Munford, and Michelle Wheelis of Fruithurst. Mr. Gallahar was preceded in death by his father George William Gallahar, his mother Lessie Ellard Gallahar, a brother Billy Gallahar, and two sisters Mary Teague and Sarah Gallahar.
Visitation for Mr. Gallahar will be Saturday, March 13th at 2:00 followed by a celebration of life service at First Baptist Church Oxford.
