George Michael "Mike" Emigh's Obituary
A Celebration of Life and Masonic Service for Mr. George Michael (Mike) Emigh will be held at 5 P.M. on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the Weaver Community Center. The family will have a family hour from 3-4 P.M. and will receive friends from 4-5 P.M.
Mr. Emigh passed away on June 12, 2026 at his home in Wellborn. Mr. Emigh was a Project Management Professional who served in various roles across the country supporting the Defense, Energy, and Space Industries. He served on one of the engineering teams responsible for the Destiny Lab Module of the Space Station. He worked many years at ANCDF helping to keep the community safe as they destroyed the stockpiled chemical weapons.
He was a member of Alexandria Masonic Lodge #208 in Alexandria. He loved photography and taking pictures for family and loved ones. He was a long-time member of the Huntsville Photographic Society in the 1980s and 1990s. He was an avid marksman who found peace and camaraderie at the shooting range. His aim was true, his stories were plentiful, and he was always ready for one more trip to the range.
Mr. Emigh is survived by his son, David (Ashleigh) Emigh and daughter, Rebekah (Thomas) Evans; brothers, John Franklin Emigh and James Timothy Emigh; sisters, Susan Emigh and Mary Beth Emigh; grandchildren, Emmie Cintron, Elleigh Cintron, Haley Cothren, Kate Evans, Brandon Cothren, LilyMae Evans, Maggie Evans, and Bentley Evans. He is also survived by his many wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Julia and Leroy Emigh and brother, Charles W. Emigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Anniston Public Library, where Mr. Emigh first found his love of reading and books and received “the best free education I could have ever asked for”.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Alexandria Masonic Lodge members for providing the Masonic service. They would also like to thank the staff at Betty’s BBQ where he dined weekly for several years and BJ’s Gun Shop in Centre where he spent most Saturday mornings poking holes in paper. Your kindness towards him is greatly appreciated by us.
