Erma Delaney's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Erma Delaney, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, on March 26, 2025. Born on December 10, 1934, Erma was a well-known and cherished member of her community.
Erma was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Delaney, but her spirit and legacy live on through her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Delaney, and sons, Anthony and Joseph Delaney. Her influence and loving nature will continue to inspire her grandchildren, Jennifer, Derrick, Madison, Ethan, and Bryson Delaney, her 11 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grand-daughters.
Erma was deeply spiritual and found much joy and comfort in her faith. She was a woman known for her straightforwardness and kindness, never hesitating to voice her opinion but always ensuring her words were filled with love and wisdom.
Erma had a deep love for her family, which was the cause she cared most deeply about. Her favorite recreational activity was spending time with her loved ones. An avid figure skating, she would often be seen gracefully glide around the roller skating ring or cheering for her Husband in the roller Derby rink, with unparalleled enthusiasm.
More recently, Erma’s passion for German shepherds, particularly her beloved Ruger and Hannah, fueled her advocacy for the breed.
Known for her fondness for the color blue, Erma's vibrant personality resonated through her love for Italian cuisine and a cold glass of Pepsi. Her personality was as rich and authentic as her favorite dishes, and her advice as refreshing as her favorite drink.
Erma leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and a dash of sassiness. Her strength of character and unconditional love for her family have left indelible marks on those who were fortunate to have known her.
In her 90 years, Erma made a significant impact on many lives, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. Her life was filled with joy and love, and her memory will continue to inspire all of us.
A memorial service will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church’s chapel on May 3, 2025, followed by a small celebration of life.
Memorial donations can be made in Erma’s memory to Big Cypress German Shepherd Rescue.
