Emmett Ray Haynie's Obituary
Emmett Ray Haynie, born May 3, 1944, passed away at home on May 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Emmett was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and respected businessman whose steady presence and kind spirit touched many lives.
On May 7, 1971, Emmett married the love of his life, Marie Elizabeth McDonald. Together they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage filled with devotion, partnership, and family.
Emmett is survived by his loving wife, Marie; and his two sons, Jonathan (Aduska Shay) and Jeremy (Beth). He was a proud grandfather to Tyler, Trent, Caleb, and Asher, each of whom brought him great joy and pride. He is also survived by his older sister, Nelda Jean Coolbaugh; and several beloved nephews: David and Dennis Coolbaugh, Byron and Brenton Haynie, and Joseph and Jason Davis.
Emmett was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett William Haynie and Lena Mae Holden Haynie, and by his younger brother, Robert Earl Haynie.
For 50 years, Emmett proudly owned and operated Haynie Accounting & Tax Services, serving his community with integrity, dedication, and professionalism. Through decades of faithful work, he built not only a successful business but also lasting relationships with clients who became lifelong friends.
Emmett will be remembered for his strong work ethic, reserved yet witty demeanor, devotion to his family, and the impact he had on the community through both his business and personal kindness. His faithfulness and dedication will live on in all who knew and loved him.
The memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Talladega Bible Methodist Church, 120 Brecon Access Rd, Talladega, AL 35160.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Talladega Bible Methodist Church.
