Dorothy "Dottie" Harrison's Obituary
Ms. Dorothy “Dottie” Harrison, 92, of Anniston Al, originally of Selma, AL, passed away August 22, 2025 at her residence. She is survived by her son, Patrick Harrison (Kristi); grandson, Hayes Harrison; granddaughters, Danica Karr and RoxyAnna Harrison; her nephew, Bill (Kim) Martin; and nieces, Sharon Lilly (Joe) and Karen Mattingly (Casey).
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leonard and Lucy Grist and William and Pellye Wilson; and her parents, William and Pellye Grist.
Dottie’s life was a beautiful reflection of kindness, faith, and love. With a servant’s heart and a gentle spirit, she never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel like family. Her greatest joy was found in sharing Jesus’s love for us, her church, her friends and the family she cherished so deeply. She loved reading her Bible, the game of baseball, and cheering for and watching her son and grandchildren live out life to the fullest. Dottie shared her gift of hospitality through cooking, the beauty she nurtured in her garden, and the joy of passing along cuttings from her plants. She found delight in life’s simplest treasures, like the hummingbirds that fluttered outside her window, a reflection of the lightness and grace she carried through her own life.
A Service and Celebration of Life reception will take place, Saturday, August 30, at 10:00 am, at Bonny Brook Baptist Church, 2303 Pelham Road S, Jacksonville, Al 36265.
