Donald Richard Copeland's Obituary
Donald Richard Copeland, 84, of Gadsden, Alabama, passed away on April 12, 2026, peacefully at his home alongside his loving family.
Donald was born on April 10, 1942, in Gallant, Alabama to David and Ruth Copeland. Donald lived a full life. He was known for his love for Christ, his family, and his friends. He never met a stranger or passed up on an opportunity to tell a funny story and make people laugh. Donald married the love of his life, Dianne Brown, and together they shared 65 years of marriage. Their home was filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
What brought Donald happiness was his love of travel and playing golf. Most of all he loved being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Donald was a member of the Gadsden Church of Christ.
Donald is survived by his wife, Dianne Brown Copeland; their three children, Rhonda (Marty) Hall, Dedra (Dunn) Rasbury, Jason (Heather) Copeland; his grandchildren, Meagan (Kyle) Robertson, Jacob (Mary Kyle) Hall, Savannah (Glavine) Roberts, Hunter (Kaitlin) Rasbury, Carlee (Isaac) Roden, and Kyle Copeland; his six-great-grandchildren, Adleigh, Madelyn, Houston, Mary Ellis, Caroline, and Lowen. Donald is also survived by his sister, Janet (Roger) Willingham.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, David and Ruth Copeland and his brother Melvin Copeland.
The family will receive friends at Gadsden Church of Christ, 1203 Piedmont Cutoff, Gadsden AL 35903 on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 1PM with a celebration of life following at 2PM.
The family asks that flowers be omitted and contributions be given in his memory to Gadsden Church of Christ to assist their ministry in assisting those in need.
