Donald Carroll's Obituary
Memorial service for Donald Carroll, 79 of Wellington, will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Angel Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Donald passed away on January 19, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Linda Phillips Carroll; his mother and father, Ethel and Shell Carroll; and his brothers, Bryant and Jerry Carroll.
Donald is survived by two daughters, Tessa Sims (Donny) and Leslie Chandler (Michael); eight precious grandchildren, Lauren “Tinkerbell” Johnson (Jakob), Aaron Cody, Austin Smith, Addison Smith, Bethanie Chandler, Cameron Chandler, Landon Sims (April) and Brelynn Chandler; four great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Beau Sims, Luka Johnson and Asher Chandler; and many brothers and sisters in love as well as nieces and nephews.
Donald Carroll was a truly strong willed and God fearing man. Everything he did in his life was with a purpose and he knew no matter what that God’s will would be done and would carry him through. He worked as a teacher, engineer, entrepreneur and business owner and a skilled carpenter that could build anything. He was a perfect example that hard work, dedication and patience would get you through. He spoke God’s glory to everyone in his life. He taught his kids and grandkids to trust and love the Lord and to this day they will all tell you that was the greatest gift he gave them. He went to be with his Savior and his beloved Linda, surrounded by all of his loved ones knowing that he would see all of them again in Heaven.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kristie Smith, Labreeska Green and SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice, and to Haley Curvin for helping us care for our precious Daddy and Papa during this trying time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
