Diane and I loved to sing, even though neither of us could carry a tune. We both worked at First Federal of Fort Myers downtown office on the mezzanine floor. It was a six story building with a cafeteria on the sixth floor and when we got in the elevator to go to lunch, we always broke out in song, often, “It’s beginning to Look a lot like Christmas.” The moment the elevator door opened we would stop singing, but start in again when the door closed. I’m sure a lot of executives heard our off-key version. But being young and dumb, we didn’t care. Diane was always so much fun. I will miss her, but happy she has gone home to be with her loved ones.
