Derrell "Big Daddy" Clay's Obituary
Derrell Clay was born on March 2, 1927 to Floyd and Ima Clay, and passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 22, 2020 at the age of 92.
He was a World War II veteran. He worked at Lee Brass for 30+ years.
He and his wife, Louise, of 73 years were owners of Big Daddy’s Café in White Plains, AL since 1969. He loved serving the White Plains community. He loved his family and animals dearly. He never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. His grandchildren will cherish his memory and creative storytelling.
Mr. Clay was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Ima Clay, his brother Calvin Clay, his sister Minnie Lee Singleton and his daughter Sheila Clay.
Surviving Mr. is his wife Louise Clay, his sister Faye Fields (Melvin), his son Derry Clay, his daughter Sandra Cheatwood (David Robinson), His grandchildren Scott Cheatwood (Brandi), Clint Cheatwood (Angie) and KJ Feheley, and several great grandchildren.
